Nyboder is an iconic, unique and old residential area near Østerport in Copenhagen. The building was built by King Christian IV / Christian the Fourth back in 1631. The homes were intended as housing for employees of the Danish Navy. The homes are characterized by the yellow color they have today, but originally the houses were Dannebrog-colored, i.e. whitewashed with red shutters.
